Each day and night that I say the Descent of Brighid
I shall not be slain; I shall not be wounded
I shall not be put in (a) cell; I shall not be torn asunder.
Cha loisg grian mi/ No sun shall burn me
Cha loisg teine mi/No fire shall burn me
Cha loisg ial mi/No beam shall burn me
Cha loisg gile mi/No moon shall burn me
Cha bhath uisge mi/No water shall drown me
Cha bhath sala mi/No brine shall drown me
Cha bhath lighe mi/No flood shall drown me
Cha bhath burn mi./No river shall drown me
This is the day of Brighid
The Queen will come from the mound.
I wil not touch the Queen
Nor will the Queen touch me.
The Feast Day of Brighid
The daughter of Emer shall come form the knoll
I will not touch the daughter of Emer
Nor will she touch me
Today is the Day of Brighid
The serpent shall come from the hole
I will not molest the serpent
Nor will the serpent molest me.
