And on the subject of research...

I've got an aspiring serial killer who, at the moment, lives in the Sawara-ku ward in the Japanese city of Fukuoka.

When the story I'm writing begins, he is planning to abduct and kill a victim, using a temporarily vacant house in the neighboring ward, Jounan-ku, as the place to commit the crime. Both of these wards are primarily residential areas.

What I need to figure out now is how the victim will be transported. Although public transportation is one of the primary ways of moving around in Japan, clearly it's not plausible that my killer could take his victim on the bus or train. Thus, he's either going to have to drive, or scrap the plan of moving the victim any large distance in the first place.

The question I'm pondering now is, how long would it take my killer to drive from his location in Sawara-ku to the second location in Jounan-ku? As I recall, Japanese streets are somewhat notorious for being crowded, but that doesn't mean I know how long it's likely to take the guy to drive there.

I'm also trying to figure out what the approximate distance he'd be driving is... of course, it'll vary a lot depending on where in Sawara-ku my killer lives, and where in Jounan-ku the vacant house is, but I'm having problems finding scale maps of the area that I can actually read (Lol, I phail at kanji...), which is an annoyance.

I will figure you out, roads of Japan. Trust me on this. I will. Maybe after asking little_details  for some help, but eventually I will.
