What do you guys think of this picture? According to hetalia , it's a painting intended to depict the '08 Olympics in Beijing, with anthropomorphized countries. I don't get the impression that there's a consensus on what the meaning of the painting is, but there seems to be a consensus that the reclining woman is Russia, the fully dressed woman is the United States, the woman on the left is Japan, and the woman with her back to the audience is China. Whether the woman holding a knife on the right is Taiwan or the poor Chinese labor force, however, has been subject to debate. I'm not quite sure what to make of it, myself.
