...these are always the most difficult things to figure out how to say.
I just don't know how we can make it to our Disney World vacation this October.
-Our forum has died for a week with no explanation from the host.
-Only one person has paid or even talked about paying.
-We're still, with the most OPTIMISTIC appraisal, two characters short.
-Of those who are going, at least seven need some form of major help/haven't started on their costumes.
-The only supplier of wig-making lace on the internet is out of stock.
-Both Yui and I are broke/in debt. (This wouldn't have been too much of a problem...we do have credit cards. In fact, we're more than willing to do everything that we can to help others go. But money isn't enough, on its own...)
With no money of our own, I can't reserve the rooms. With no one sending me money, I also cannot reserve the rooms.
With no rooms, there is no where to stay, and with no where to stay, there is no magical vacation.
I guess I had just been hoping that, somehow, out there, somewhere, were enough costumers with a big enough love of Kingdom Hearts to really pull ahead and do this with me, without me having to go after anyone and pester them (I HATE doing that. I hate asking: 'Can you come? Do you have the money yet? Have you gotten off of work yet? How is your costume going? What about your wig?')
I just don't know what to do when the plans aren't working out to THIS degree. All I'm forseeing is that, if I continue, I'm going to end up 2,000 miles away from home and an extra 4,000 dollars in debt with a group of people that only partially want to be there.
What's worse is that, now that we're suddenly faced with not going, we feel that there won't ever be a possibility for something -better- than a con to happen. If we can't do this, with a year's worth of planning behind us...then whats worth doing?
Is this trip even worth continuing on?
I mean, if it isn't going to be near-perfect.....
is it worth sacrificing for...?
We -really- wanted this to work. But at this point...
there's just not enough time, and not enough commitment.
Thanks to those who came this far with us, and I'm sorry that it didn't finish all the way. It really was a wonderful dream.
I guess the next thing up is Youmacon.
Two conventions in one year....*shakes head* This is our all-time low.
