Gaaarrramit.

I am so fed up with Painter IX I can't even describe it. I've been using it a lot the past couple of weeks, working on some pamphlet covers for a client who writes educational stuff, and the blasted thing has crashed on me five or six times an hour. And yes, I save, but half the time it corrupts (and once, deleted) the file as it goes down and I lose far more than the last few minutes worth of work, no matter how recently I've saved. This program has the most spectacular way of just vanishing from the screen in the blink of an eye - no warning, no freezing, no little foreboding byte-chomping grumble from the CPU - just silence and DEATH!! DEATH to the artwork!! I just googled "Corel Painter crash" and found forum after forum of angry artists pitching and moaning about what is termed the "Painter Poof" - it's good to know I'm not alone and that it's not my computer with the problem, but it's majorly irritating that this issue has apparently been around since the get-go and Corel just keeps releasing new versions that come with a bunch of extraneous bells and whistles but still contain the nastiest of bugs. It's not like it's a cheap program. Jerks.
