Yesterday I got a letter in the mail. It started with the following sentence:

"Congratulations! You have been selected for admission to the MAT program at St. Mary's College of Maryland."

I'm going to grad school!!!! :D I mean, anyone from St. Mary's won't be surprised that I was accepted, since the MAT here is hardly a super-selective program. But even with that assurance, it's still nice to get concrete evidence that you have guaranteed further education. :)

Now to find someplace to live... I have at least two or three potential options as it stands now, and depending on what gingerrose decides to do that number may increase. I want to be with at least one other MAT person, since I'll have my driver's license but not a car to go with it. That'll only take away half the trouble of finding my way to campus and placements every day.

It was a good day for mail yesterday. In my excitement over the grad school letter, I didn't even look at the rest of my mail until today. It turns out I got my invitation to my friend Allie's wedding yesterday as well! Which leads me to a question that maybe some of you on my flist can answer: I know that non-Mormons aren't allowed to enter the big temple (the one that looks like the Disney castle). But are they allowed to come into the little community chapels like the one this wedding is in? I mean, I'm assuming she wouldn't have invited me to the ceremony if I wasn't allowed to attend, but I just wanted a second opinion on that. I'm still going to message her to RSVP and perhaps ask if there's any specific protocol I need to be aware of.

Yay!!!

Sarah

school, big news, for the win
