In addition...

I also want to add that one of the reasons I so dislike being busy around this time of year is that I literally have no mindspace for anything except what I absolutely need to focus on. I have been really wanting to do some writing for some time, and I actually had a good idea today that corresponded to a fic challenge I've been following (and was inspired by the last "Lost" episode that I finally had a chance to watch today- OMG sdhkdhkgfkjs). But when I tried to put the words to the page, I found that my brain couldn't get into that zone long enough to even start the story. I think it's partly to do with the fact that I'm on this alternating-hour schedule I described, so I know I only have an hour between homework sessions to get all my pent-up energy out. I can't really finish anything in an hour, so my brain only has the capacity for smaller things, like email or watching fanvids or something.

If only I had time for more than the bare essentials. I'm still behind on schoolwork, although I've done quite a bit this week if you put it all together. My email inbox is so full it's ridiculous; I know there's a billion things in there I should have responded to ages ago, but it's just not happening. And I just don't have that feeling of being caught up on my life, just a tenuous sort of control that's unreliable because it just means I'm a little bit more responsible about my behind-ness than I was before.

I'm still confident I'll pull through it. I mean, the semester's gonna end either way, so it's really just a question of what I choose to do with these next two weeks. Right now it's almost 11:30 p.m., and I'm trying to decide whether I should go back to work at midnight or start preparing to turn in for the night. There's so much to do, but I need plenty of sleep- I don't want to reprise the several times last week when I was literally trying not to fall asleep in front of my work. And I have a tendency to do something besides nap, even on days when I really need it, so that makes it all the more important to get as much rest as I can at night. I guess that's a definitive vote for sleep, then. :) Maybe I'll do a half-hour's worth of work, and then go for a shower at 12:30 and get to bed by a little after 1. Yeah, that sounds good.

Sorry, just felt like talking that through for a second. Continue as you were. ;)
