Yeah, so, as the title suggests, I'm experiencing a bit of "Heroes" mania at the moment. :) Some of you might know that I came into the series in the middle of season 1. I had always known that I'd probably like the show, and it really intrigued me, but I didn't actually get off my butt and start watching it until winter break. It helps that my dad (who is awesome and gets me into nearly everything I'm obsessed with, if Caitlin doesn't do it first) had been watching all season, and would send me emails every Tuesday telling me about the show and recommending that I start to watch. So over winter break I watched reruns with him, letting him do a running commentary on which characters could do what and everything that had happened so far in the season. By the end of winter break, I was well on my way to addicted. So I got together with some friends from school- the group I watch with now- and we bonded, and I started introducing the show to some more new people. Take my dad's spot-on knowledge of my taste in TV shows, add a bunch of squeeing fangirls and the opportunity to share the love with others, season with a pinch of Christopher Eccleston (particularly potent to a person who had also recently become obsessed with "Doctor Who") and you have a great big obsession.
Anyway...the show comes back on April 23. Yesterday I started thinking that, since I haven't seen the first eight or so episodes of the season, maybe I should catch myself up before the new episodes start. So that's what I've begun to do. (For those of you who don't know, you can find full episodes of the series online at www.nbc.com/Heroes/ ) Combine that with the fact that most of the fanfiction I've been reading in the last month has been Heroes-related, and my brain starts to orient itself full-on around "Heroes". It's pretty interesting. Just thought I'd share with you my random squeeing on good TV. It's been too long since I've done that.
Additionally, I've started writing again. Aside from additions to a big idea I've been developing for ages (but that's prewriting and not writing), I haven't produced any kind of fic in literally months. It's actually kind of depressing, since this is one of my favorite things in the world to do. But on Saturday I just kind of sat down and wrote- nothing big, about two pages long, but good. I posted it to a group of similar-minded writers and got some really spectacular feedback. So we'll see if I can keep this up.
Off to do something productive before class today! Have a good day, one and all. I hope you, too, have something to fangirl about.
