*Sigh*....
Well this past weekend was a much needed break for me. Jed found a way for me to go see him in South Carolina. =D I almost didn't get to go, but then he found a way around the stupid online reservations by calling the service. I flew through Charlotte and then down to Charleston, South Carolina on Friday. I was supposed to leave by 10:55 am, but my flight was an hour late getting off of the ground here in Huntsville, so I missed my flight in Charlotte by about 3-5 minutes, only because I ran from E Concourse to C Concourse. After being delayed for over 2 hours, I arrived in Charleston at about 5pm. As I turned the corner to go up the ramp and exit the secured part of the airport to go claim my luggage, there he was... I saw him instantly, and I just wanted to run at him and hug him so tight, but I didn't. I was so nervous to see Jed again that all I could do was walk up there and give him a kiss. All was well again. It felt so much like a dream, a very elaborate dream, but a dream. Well we went swimming that night and had pizza, and he had to be back to the base by 12:15am on the next day. Saturday we spent downtown at the market and other shops. The humidity is crazy there! They did have cool stuff like horse-drawn buggy tours, shells (at the market), and one lady there was even selling 80s WATCHES!!!! One shop had cool stuff like geodes and rings and just stuff. The great thing was the air conditioning. We toured downtown to the point we felt like poor homeless people, and decided to eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp Resaurant. It was really cool too! There was even a guy outside (Forrest Gump duh!) getting pictures with people. We walked around more, to the point I put myself into chest pains, and the afternoon was spent recooping with rest, Chinese food, and swimming. Sunday was the beach! It was so hot though that the sand burned your feet and the waves kept knockin me over. Jed and I decided to leave, walk around some, and the come back, especially cuz I paid $50 for the cab to the beach. Damn... Anywho, we stopped in at a supermarket for some water, Gatoraide, and fruit for me. We were like poor people without a car. No transportation of your own sucks!!! Well then we, or I should say I did, committed a cardinal sin, and we ate Subway. It pretty dang good though. I also bought us some blow-up tire ring things so we could use them in the ocean. It was great... But we got sunburned.. That was my fault. Jed and I didn't get back to the hotel til late cuz the Cabbies wouldln't come get us and it was too far to walk. May I say though, if you don't have to, don't take a cab! They will bankrupt you! We got back so exhausted that we fell asleep next to each other on the bed, and we woke up 25 minutes before he had to be back on base. That sucked, because our goodbye was a peck and an 'i love you'. It was supposed to be a BIG hug, kisses, and some more hugging way before the cab got there. Oh well. I got his shoes while he called a cab right quick, and folded up his awesome uniforms that he brought to show me. God... I have a man in uniform! It's so hot. I like the blue one best. *sigh* I dont like the hat though. Oh well. My plane trip back was good. I fell asleep in the plane back to Huntsville ( I had to be up at 4am Monday for a 6:15am flight). The sky is soo beautiful early in the morning from a plane when the sun is rising. *sigh* It's very inspirational, and it made me think about the world and deep stuff. You know me, that's what I do. My buddy Sam picked me up at the airport and brought me breakfast -- Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop Tarts with a Coca Cola. Hehe. It all still feels like it was a dream to see him after three months...
Some lessons you should learn:
1. ALWAYS take extra extra money for cabs... they like to cheat you.
2. Wear sunscreen at the beach, and don't take your purse
3. Get someone to rent a car for you before resorting to cabs
4. Never eat take out Chinese with out the Pepto handy ;)
5. Never tell a British nut fan that you found an England hat and then can't deliver... bad news.
6. Don't stray into the wrong side of town...eh...*cough* projects/homeless/bums *cough*
7. Plan your trip ahead of time. It works better
Even though things weren't nearly perfect, it was well worth the time, effort and expense. Oh yes, and thank you so much to my mother for letting me go. I needed it.
I Can Dream About You
No more timing
each tear that falls from my eyes
I'm not hiding
the remedy to cure this old heart of mine
I can dream about you
if I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
you know how to hold me just right
I can dream about you
you know how to hold me just right
Moving sidewalks, I don't see under my feet
Climbing up from
down here below where the streets see
me lonely for you.
Oh, I can dream about you
if I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
you know how to hold just right
I can dream about you
I'm gonna press my lips against you
and hold you to me
I can dream about you
You know you got me spellbound
what else can it be
Moving sidewalks, I dont see under my feet
Climbing up from
the pain in my heart
cuz it's you that I need
I can dream, I can dream
I don't understand it
I can't keep my mind off loving you
Ooo, now baby, I'm caught up in the magic I see in you
There's one thing to do
I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right
I can dream about you
if I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
oh, I can dream, I can dream
I can dream about you... I can dream about you baby...
I dream about all the time Jed... I love you soo much!
