disingenuousness

I find it highly amusing and saddening to watch it all around me.

People posing for photos trying desperately hard to look like they are having a great time, plastering the 'having a blast!' face on, right before the shutter goes off.

I distinctly remember a former girlfriend who was driving up through the guts of AU with me at a couple spots along the way. The whole way up she had a face like a bag of smashed crabs (to borrow a colourful phrase from another girlfriend), until of course she happened to be in front of a landmark with me pointing a camera at her. Suddenly, out comes Miss Deliriously Blissful to smile sweetly at the camera. As soon as the photo opp was over, it was back to Grumpsville and Whiningland.

So few people like honesty. So many folks walk around in a veil of lies, to themselves and to others.

I guess that's a reason why I'm so often quietly reviled and scorned. How dare I walk around with so very few...
