2011 is go

Jan 19, 2011 21:00

Hello 2011. I think I'm starting to get to know you and I think we'll get along well enough.

The flu finally, finally, finally hit. This is a relief, since I've spent my whole time since Christmas feeling exhausted and half-sick and trying extra hard to get sleep and keep healthy. It's draining to keep that up for three weeks. Now that I have the flu proper I can suffer the worst of it and be DONE. Yay!

I just wish it had better timing, since there have been a lot of cool things happening this week and I have had to pass on all of them so I can stay home and get some rest. Ah well!

(Clearly, resting = posting in livejournal)

Things I am up to in the new year:

1) Arbitrary 365 sketch challenge is go. I am forcing myself to google image search a different creature a day and do a quick and ugly pen sketch of it. This is to no grand plan (I'm not even planning on posting these), I just wanted something different from my usual subject matter that would be low key enough to keep up for 365. We will see how that goes.

2) I am well underway on Derby Comic #2. This is really what I need right now, this project. I have been spending a lot of time on my couch drinking gingerale and cold meds, but I am still plugging along with my daily progress-o-meter because this makes me happy.

3) I would like to see how much drive I actually have this year, so I'm going to force myself to overcome writer's block and jump start something fictional that I'll be posting online. I dunno, it will be a fun experiment to throw that into the mix this year.

4) I was given MBT sneakers for Christmas and they may be changing my life. One of my larger regrets for being flu-y is that I had to spend the weekend laying around feebly and not WALKING AROUND TOWN IN MY MBT SHOES. These shoes, man, they are killer on hills (which is 90% of San Francisco) but they are so. Much. Fun.

5) Hell has frozen over. Not only do I have a twitter account (Jeanne convinced me to get one a while ago so I could dibs a username that was to my liking) but... but I posted something to it. Just so that it wasn't so empty and so people could, y'know, know it was me and not a squatter. I plan to use this mostly for a newsfeed on myself and reading other people. We'll see how long that lasts.

And I think that is enough?

Anyway, yes. Should be interesting times ahead. Onward!
