I'm really jealous of people who are about 5 years ahead of me financially and are getting amazing deals on houses right now. Like $100,000 for a 2 bedroom house in a decent part of Riverside. Not that I want to live there, but still. It just makes me wish that I had a few thousand bucks to invest since it's the perfect time for investing. Not like I'm the only one who wishes that though. On the plus side, Cristóbal and I looked at our budget and made ourselves a realistic plan to save money to pay off all the rest of our loans within 6 months so we don't have to keep paying with high interest for the next few years. And we've already gotten ourselves out of credit card debt. So I feel proud of that. It makes me feel more grown up. The next step will be trying to save up enough money to move to the US with no job, be able to find one, then support both me and Cristóbal on my paycheck for as long as it takes for a green card to go through (estimate- 6 months?). Oh yeah, and all that while paying the government $3000 to even let us apply for a green card. I don't know if I realistically see that happening in 2 years. That's a lot of money to save. Did I mention that immigration laws in the US really suck? All those hoops that we have to jump through to be able to afford to take Cristóbal to the US and then they have the nerve to tell me that there are steps I have to take (maintain bank accounts and investments in the US, file taxes even though I'm not working there, keep voting stubs to prove I still vote) or else I will lose my right to sponsor him because I moved to another country. That's crap.

On a high note, we're going to London in November! Cristóbal has a crapload of vacation days left (thanks to his company who just mentioned that he has until the end of the year to use them all, rather than until March of next year like usual), we have 3 free nights of hotel there thanks to the awesome package deal from where we had our wedding reception in Madrid, and we found plane tickets from Madrid to London -roundtrip- for 20€ each!!!! My God, I love Ryanair right now.
