Amazing things happen to me- someday is over
MY FIRST ART SHOW
My opening in the SOMEDAY CAFE went so unbelivably well. So many people came through for me and i felt very loved. I cant belive what wonderful friends I have. It made me feel very special that everyone dressed up and came and made such a big deal about it for me. I just want to say thankyou ...you know who you are.
I even sold a painting of a blueberry today for a little bit of money. THe girl that worked in the cafe said that it seemed like the best opening theyve have had because people seemed to really be having a good time. I started to appreciate my freindships as art more beautiful than my paintings could be. But i suppose my paintings are just me in square form.
THis great man that works at Share Group with me writes articles for the local somerville news...Its a little news paper but he interviewd me with a recorder today and this all makes me feel like i could possbily make it in this art thing...its terrible that i need connections.... sadly art appears to be a business and i didnt want to be a business person....Business is not art, art is snails ...and thought/instinct and clear plastic. ANyways itll be ina lil tiney news paper in somerville.
DID I CALL A Phycic?
I was chatting with a very nice woman on my 'Amnesty International' fundraising call about politics and she suddenly says "can i ask you what you do besides this fundraiser stuff, like whats your other job?" and i told her how i was in art school etc and she said that SHE was in the fine arts and was writing a book in New York called "100 New York painters" and it was about living artists in NY and she could tell that i was an artsit somehow...she said she didnt even know why, she could just sence that i was an artist wich is why she asked ....wich is very weird cuz i didnt mention anyhting relating to art at all...and she said she had lots of artist friends i should take down her address and send her a post card sometime wich was very cool.
