For the sake of completeness, I need to mention in this entry that my girlfriend Emily (
desalete), her two cats, which may be read about often in her journal, and my longtime friend Matt (
m_tothe_at) will be living in my basement with me this year. Emily has been here since late August, and Matt will be moving up one week from now. All is very good, but Emily is bad at both cooking and doing dishes.
The most interesting of new roommates, however, actually shares my room. I met this new roommate's former owner
khbrokenmachine in the
Fredericton community where she was posting a list of things she needed to sell before she moved with a backpack alone to Toronto. Her four-foot iguana was not for sale, but she needed a new home for her pet, and I decided I would like to provide that home.
Kanna is a free-roam iguana who actually spends most of her time on her basking shelf above my bed. She has explored the rest of the room at my prompting, but I've yet to let her explore any of the other areas of the house without being in my arms. She hasn't been too ambitious to do so anyway.
This is Queen Kanna, the green iguana (because it rhymes and suits her attitude when on her shelf):
After a Swim
Not a Staged Photo
On the Couch
Under the Couch
Investigating the Couch
Climbing the Couch
Though the camera can be partially blamed, she does indeed change colours.
