I used to think the idea of business travel was fun. You get to see a new city, and you get paid while you're there. If you're lucky, you get to explore as a tourist for a bit. My recent business trip was pretty much the same... except it was an entire week in Barcelona. I got to spend about 2 hours sight-seeing on the first day (in lieu of recovering from jet lag).

Also, Say what?? The Breeders?!?!

I don't miss doing business trips. My old old job used to make me fly everywhere for conventions and trainings and I hated it after about 5 months, living in hotels and airports.

I think it leads to some pretty unhealthy living, especially where eating & drinking is concerned.

I think it's the 5:30AM wakeup time that hurt the most.

i used to imagine it was glamorous. then i went to hong kong for a 7-day trip that got extended to 10 days & i cried in front of my boss.
it's just like work, only a 24-hour day instead of 8 hours.

I hope you at least had a hotel room separate from your boss. That might make it feel like only a 20-hour work day.

Cold is right! While NYC had record warmth, it was in the low 20s in St. Paul.
