It was supposed to be a monumental occasion.

Jay Barnes and I went to PS1 last night to see the first screening since 1995, and the first American screening ever of "Watch The K Foundation Burn A Million Quid."

Read about the movie here. Trust me, it's a great story, and I don't want to minimize it by giving it an insufficient description here ( Read more... )

read the book "45" by Bill Drummond if you want to hear more about their zaniness.

Yeah, except for the fact that it was totally free. I guess there's the whole thing about a big, hyped buildup and then dashed expectations and all that. That definitely worked.

These guys are quite good at what they do, wouldn't you say?

That was a great story. I was secretly hoping that the gentleman with you was going to turn out to be Bill Drummond.

I've been on a Bill kick again lately. I bought the silent protest kit and one of the 20,000 pieces of A Smell of Sulphur in the WInd by Richard Long (info here). Also, I have the book The K Foundation Burn a Million Quid which is a lot more interesting than the movie, it sounds like. I also finally tracked down and read How to Be an Artist which wasn't as good but was still worth a read, as well as his two novels with Zodiac Mindwarp. If you wanna borrow any of 'em, lemme know.

Seriously, he's so awesome. I was really sad to not be able to join you.
