Authors Note: This was from a fic exchange I did for Christmas. ^__^ This is my first Beast fic I guess.. and Doojoon and Yoseob really is my least favorite -_-;; but I wrote it anyways. LOL..
The room was dark, lights still off. The whispering of the wind outside could be heard as it mixed in with a steady breathing. In the moonlight, two figures could be seen. Doojoon's fingers tightened around the gun, hands shaking as he aimed it towards the sleeping boys head. Not once, in the past seven years since he had been recruited have he ever failed a mission. He was the best of the best, the top dog. But all it took was one person, in the whole world to question his ability, his best friend, his lover, his next target.
Doojoon had just come home from a meeting with the higher ups, his mind and body drained from everything he had found out. They had given him a thick manilla envelope, just like any other day, except today, before he was allowed to open it, they had asked him where his loyalty lied. Of course, he chose them, the ones who had taken him in when he had no where else to go. The ones who trained him, cultivated him into the man he was today. He would forever be indebted to them, his loyalty would forever be with them, until death. Upon hearing his words, everyone in the room had waited for him to look at the picture.
His heart dropped as questions filled his head. Confused, he glanced up at his mentors, only to be given more papers. All which were important details but none really stuck with Doojoon, there was only one word he could remember. Spy. Through his upbringing, the young man kept his composure as he walked out, promising to finish the job.
But now, as he stared at the boy in front of him, he was really starting to doubt if he'll be able to do it. The other had been by his side for the past three years, was that all a lie? Tears slowly built up in Doojoon's eyes, what they had must've been real right? More and more tears streamed down his face as realization dawned on him. Yoseob was using him this whole time, every touch, every kiss, every moment they spent together was a lie.
Doojoon tried to force himself to stop crying but he couldn't. Betrayal was one thing that he touched the closest to home with him. Betrayal was what got Junhyung killed five year ago. From that point on, he trusted no one. It took him a long time to finally let someone in, there were always walls built to protect himself but Yoseob had took the time to take down each one, slowly but surely. And now he knew, it wasn't out of love though, it was for his own benefit.
With every step he took closer to the boy, the hurt subsided, only to be replaced with anger. At himself, at Yoseob, at everything, at everyone. The gun stayed pointed, aimed at blonde's head the whole time.
Why? The question kept repeating itself over and over again in his head. He didn't understand. Why he didn't see any signs, any clues that would have hinted him. Doojoon was a cautious person, he would never overlook something like this. Yet somehow, Yoseob got past all his defenses, until today. Finally, he halted as he stood next to the bed. The angle of the moonlight shone on the blonde boy, showing his boyish charm, something Doojoon had loved about him.
Without any warning, he shot the bed, a couple of inches away from the sleeping boys arm. Alarmed, Yoseob's eyes popped open as he tried to jump out of bed and tried to read the situation at the same time. Glancing around the room frantically, shock shone in his eyes as he stared at Doojoon , realization quickly took over, the other had finally found out.
"Hyung.. listen to me" The blonde tried to take a step closer, arms reaching out for Doojoon. Only to be stopped by another shot. Yoseob froze on the spot.
"Why?" The tears had now dried, his grip steady as he glared at Yoseob. Nervous, the young boy shifted from one leg to the other, "Hyung. Are you going to shoot me? After all we've been through?" He looked at the older boy with pleading eyes, teeth biting over his lower lip. To Doojoon, the other had looked so harmless, like a lost child. Exactly how he looked when they first met. Sobs could be heard from the other side of the room as the blonde pleaded for his life, "Hyung.. please. I'm sorry. I didn't want to.. I love you.."
At the question, he felt his throat tighten, was he really going to kill the other boy? If he didn't, someone else would, and he knew it would be slow and painful. He didn't even care about the reasons anymore, none of that seemed to matter now. A soft whisper left his lips, "I loved you too."
Closing his eyes, Doojoon pressed his finger down against the trigger as a loud bang filled the room, followed by the sound of a body hitting the floor. He knew the other was dead. He had aimed specifically at the boy's head, making sure he wouldn't have to suffer any pain. That much, he would give him, a painless death. Lowering his arm, Doojoon stared over at the bloodstained wall.
Everything seemed so surreal, he had killed Yoseob just like that. Simple. Just like all those other times he's done to his targets. Slowly raising the gun once more, he aimed it at himself before pulling the trigger.
The betrayal had hurt but being lonely hurts even more.
