Pairing/Group: Goon
Authors note: For firstsunrise 's birthday
Summary: Byunghee's birthday

Another year, another birthday. Though Byunghee was another year older, he didn't feel any wiser, he hasn't for a while now. Age was nothing but a number to him now that he's 24, correction, 25 as of today, at the stroke of midnight. Life seemed like the same routine over and over again, nothing new. He met the same people, his friends, co-worker from time to time, drinking. Work and that was about it. It was probably how his life was going to be in the future as well. Predictable and safe, just like him. He didn't mind it but thinking back, he remembered the days when he had so many dreams, so much that he wanted to accomplish, he felt unstoppable.

But real life was harder than he expected. The world was a cruel and harsh place. Loving music wasn't enough for him to make it big, in the end, he settled as a nine to five office worker, trying to make ends meet. Though from time to time, he'd wonder about the what ifs and the could've beens.

Sighing Byunghee walked along the lonely road, fingers digging into his pockets as the cold air sent chills down his spine. November in Seoul was no joke. The soju that he had previously drunken was slowly wearing off, whilst the foggy mist in the air was quickly settling in.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Frowning, Byunghee looked around, trying to figure out where the screaming was coming from. Up ahead, a young boy in a measly thin sweater was facing the han river, yelling like a psycho. Not wanting to get involved in whatever mess the other was going through, he kept walking. What he didn't expect was the other to laugh, contently and whole heartily. He seemed so carefree, and that, more than anything else, intrigued Byunghee.

At that point, his feet moved on their own, bringing him closer to the other boy. The laughter had soon died down, and Chansung stared at the stranger with curious eyes.

Silence filled the air before Byunghee finally cleared his throat, blurting out, "It's my birthday today."

Giving the other boy a genuine smile, Chansung wished him happy birthday before grabbing his hand, "Come on, you should be celebrating it."

Hesitantly, Byunghee stared at their linked fingers before staring at the other's face. It was crazy, he barely knew the other, he could be a killer for all he knew. He didn't know what it was, but a honest smiled graced his lips as he pulled the other with him, ready to live again.

It was another year, another birthday but this stranger, Lee Changsun had made all the difference.
