aside from the madness of the new job, i have managed to be out late every gaddddamn night since thursday... i'll run it all down
thurs i went with sebastian and robin (in her self-proclaimed deathtrap van) to see some crazy improv audio-video music where some chick was playing seashells (among other things, like a sampler and a drum machine) and this guy had his guitar running through about 542876 effects and tape loops... i tell ya, it was damn crazy. i had fried bananas with beans and cream, and some crazy fruit drink with chunks of apple and other crap. it was fun, and we get credit for it
fri me and seb went to robin's friend's bday party, where the van made another appearance (as a bar!) and we got to meet lots of cool guys and gals. then anthony showed up! it was good times; i got pretty damn drunk and had to have girls leading me to the bathroom cuz i kept forgetting where it was. there's big swaths of haziness from this point on, but i do vividly remember running around like crazy at 3 am, repeatedly forgetting this girl's name, and feeling like i had groupies following me around, hahaha
sat after work, my dad drove me to the knitting factory, where i met up with with seb tony and robin (she got tom's ticket cuz he couldn't go) to see OOIOO! they were so fucking amazing, we were in love (what's hotter than creative ladies?) and totally swooning over these japanese girls and their sweetly hypnotic music. we knew we HAD to get backstage and talk to them, but the first attempt to cross the stage after the show was foiled by a guy who really was just doing his job, so oh well. but then, we saw a door! a magical door leading right backstage! and who should we find down the ramp but yoshimi (!!!!!) herself, drinkin a beer, just chillin... we had a cool chat with her, about the boredoms, japan, etc, got some beers, and kicked it for a while till she went back in the dressing room. we wandered the backstage area for a while before we got hassled out again, and we were just leaving when we saw a sign saying that the side stage was playing 80s music, and it was FREE! i was like hell fucking yes and we all ran in there. the music was great, we danced to madonna, the smiths, depeche mode, and new order (oh shit!) among others. robin had to leave cuz she really hadn't had any sleep in a while, but me sebastian and anthony stayed and danced on the stage with all the cool kids! for a while, i danced with what must've been the hottest girl there, it was great
sun me seb and tom (he had his car!) drove over to the knitting factory again, this time to see !>!>!THE MAE SHI!
