Tomorrow is the big one year with Wasfeh. For our "one year of dating" in May, Wasfeh took me on this murder mystery dinner and train ride in Walled Lake. He spoils me way too much. After that, we ended up getting hot fudge ice cream cake from Big Boy's and we went back to the apartment where he presented me with a diamond studded watch from Guess. It is boootiful. I wear it all of the time. I can't believe it's our one year anniverary now. It feels like we've been dating forever, and at the same time, I feel like I just met him. Today, I got a velvet heart-shaped box of chocolates delivered to my house. The chocolate is so good, and there was a cute "I love you......and so on and so forth" message along with it. I am just too happy with this boy!
For the past two weeks, I have been cooking for the two of us instead of us going out to eat all of the time so we can save money. I have to admit, I am quite the chef, and it takes a LOT to impress Mr. Wasfeh Musheinish. Last night, I chopped up chicken breast, dipped it in egg and melted lo-cal butter, and then coated it with italian bread crumbs mixed with parmesan cheese. I then browned the chicken, and then added a sauce I made by chopping garlic cloves and adding parsley flakes and chicken broth. I baked the chicken and the sauce in the oven. I also cooked rice (and it wasn't the five minute instant rice, mind you) and browned more chopped garlic cloves in organic olive oil and added it to the rice, and then I grounded up some black peppercorns and added that to the rice too. I also chopped a green pepper and an orange pepper into cubes and chopped a vidalia onion too, and browned the veggies in olive oil and added spices and teriyaki marinade. I tell ya, I've really become some kind of housewife! Food is SO much better homemade than it is frozen!
Things have been going pretty good in other aspects in my life. I worked 40 hours last week. That was pretty cool, but I had to travel to other Meijer's to get the hours. The cool thing about being on the same level as the managers though, is that I get paid for mileage, so last week, I got $60 added on to my 40 hour check for traveling to other stores. This week, I only have 18 hours, but at least I am making good money because I am an intern now and got an awesomely sweet raise...like...a bigger than 30% raise! I do not see my friends enough. It seems like every night I am free, they are not. However, I've been seeing Lisa and Mike and his Laura, and Donny and Mallory fairly often, and that makes me happy!
As mentioned in my previous entry, I got into Pharmacy school. I am so relieved. I feel like I am set for life now, even though the idea of med school in my late 20s or 30s is quite prevalent in my mind. Wasfeh is doing AWESOME in his classes tot, so we are looking at a bright future. Today, he just found out that he set the curve on his last biochem test. *Sigh* 100% in biochem, what a guy!
We've been working on fixing up his apartment lately. We cook all the time, as mentioned, and we have been shopping for a desk and for a recliner too. A good recliner costs $400, and although we have the money, who wants to spend it on a chair? My classes will be really tough this fall. I know I will be spending all of my free tiem studying. I don't care though, because it will make me busy all of the time, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to study Pharmacy! I will most likely spend a lot of nights pulling all nighters at the apartment. I will have to start giving Wasfeh money for rent for staying there so much this coming year!
Yesterday was a good day. I laid out a little bit, and I went shopping for a present for Wasfeh for tomorrow. Then I went to Meijer and bought food and went to the apartment and made Wasfeh and I dinner. Then, we met up with with his lil bro and his gf, but when we went to the movie theatre, we couldn't agree on a movie. Wasfeh and I ended up back at the apartment, watching Discovery channel and Frasier on the couch.
Today I laid out and then went shopping for shoes/clothes to wear tomorrow becaue Wasfeh says I have to wear closed toe and closed heeled shoes tomorrow for something he has planned. I went to Payless, my last stop after Marshall's, DEB and DSW shoes, and ended up finding two pairs for a total of $13.25 with tax! They are prefect summery closed toe and heels shoes that I can even wear to work. Ah, women are the best shoppers! When I came home, I laid out again and then ate dinner and then went shopping again with my mom for stuff for the anniversary tomorrow. Then we had to find a bathing suit to buy for Kaleigh, and then pick her up from her friend's house. We got home at ten. Now I am getting ready to go upstairs and read my awesome book. It's about militant Islam and it's revival in Egypt. It's written by a Christian journalist who's husband is the head of Time magazine's coverage in the Middle East, so she lives in Cairo with her husband and writes about what she sees in the militant Islamist revival. It's such interesting and intriguing stuff. I am so glad that Wasfeh and I are so different, because we always have books and new interests to share with each other.
Well kids, it's time for chocolate, reading, calling Wasssssfeh and bed. I have a big day tomorrow! =)
