the fourth fucking rawked!
let me just say, if i haven't said it before about a million fucking times, joan jett fucking rawks all kindsa hard. i saw her play last night and she sounded amazing. we decided to take the kids to the fireworks at cooper river park, the fact that joan jett was playing was a big ass bonus. the place was crowded as hell but we got a decent spot. it was kinda far from the stage but we had a great view of the big screen. the set they played couldn't have been any better. a great mix of the old and new.
she opened the set with cherry bomb [hell yea!] and followed that with do you wanna touch me. i kinda wish we were closer to the stage, the crowd around us was pretty sedate until she played i love rock n' roll, which was kinda late in the set. after that though, the crowd was hyped. she played fetish, crimson and clover, i hate myself for loving you, light of day, bad reputation, backlash, some of the stuff off her new album [don't remember the names of them though, heh]. she played for like an hour then came back out for an encore and played real wild child [yes, an iggy cover. and it fucking rawked!] and every day people. if i had paid to see her play i woulda felt like i got an amazing deal, the fact that it was free... wow! just wow! her voice sounded as good as ever, her band was tight and really proved what it takes to have staying power and let me tell ya, joan jett and the blackhearts have got it!
