The Mayo Diet

( Yes folks, trying a new diet. This one was given to me by my Aunt.)

Important: Stay on 12 days and stop the diet for 2 days.

You should lose 52 lbs in 2 1/2 months. This diet is given to heart patients needing to lose weight fast for surgery.

Breakfast:

1/2 grapefruit (unsweetened)
2 eggs any style
2 slices of bacon

Lunch:

1/2 grapefruit or juice (unsweetened)
Salad any dressing
Meat any style any amount

Dinner:

1/2 grapefruit or juice (unsweetened)
Meat any style any amount

Fish may be substituted, vegetables any green or red

(Cooked any way, butter or any seasonings, or Salad, any dressing)
Coffee or tea 1 cup
Balance Snack:

Glass of tomato juice or Skim milk

Instructions
1. At any meal, eat until you are full or until you cannot eat anymore.

2. Don’t eliminate anything from the diet; especially do not skip the bacon at breakfast or salad. It is the combination of foods that burn fat.

3. The grapefruit is important because it acts as a catalyst that starts the burning process.

4. Cut down on coffee it affects the insulin balance that hinders the burning process. Limit coffee to 1 cup at bedtime.

5. Don’t eat between meals. If you eat the combination of foods you won’t be hungry.

6. Note the diet completely eliminates sugars and starches.

7. Don’t eat desserts, breads and white vegetables or sweet potatoes. You may eat double or triple helpings of meat, salads or vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed. The more you eat the more you will lose.

8. You can lose 10 pounds in 10 days. There will be no loss the first four days, but you will lose 5 pounds on the fifth day, therefore you will lose 1 1/2 pounds every 2 days until you are the weight you want to be.

All soft drinks must be caffeine free.

You May Have:

Red onion, bell peppers, radishes, cucumber, broccoli, Greens, onions, leaf spinach, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, and tomatoes.

YOU MAY NOT HAVE:
White Onions, Potatoes, and Celery
