Well, the greatest in the sense that I felt like teacher for the first time in a long time. I had to cover a class for a Ms. EmoM. She has a 6th grade class and thought about how much missed dem little babies.
I showed up with some work to grade in case all I had to do was baby sit and ignore the chaos as I have been. Instead...I was instructing using the worksheet they had to do. I mean, I was teaching, they were listening, and letting me cheese it up. It was the greatest feeling.
Half way through instructing, I got this little surge of happiness. I mean...happiness and not hate for my job. This was it, the way it was suppose to be. Even when I had to become stern with a student and had to discipline him in my manner, for christ sake, he listened! I was like, "What, you're actually falling for my stern look?" It was a reminder on how I had to really take my ED challenge as the end all of boot camp for teaching. I am use to behavior so extreme that I'm responding to that, that these little behaviors were nothing!!
It was nice. Ms. Pan Dulce walked by and I was just all smiles and told her, I want to be back in 6th grade 'cos I feel like a teacher again. Then reality set in. My coverage time was over. It was not my class. Tomorrow I had to face...my class.
I'm exhausted :(
