Title: Deja Vu
Author: sadiesayswhat
Pairing: Puck/Rachel
Summary: Rachel knows she remembers everything, she just didn't think Noah did too.
A/N: Some picture spoilers for Glee in NYC. After seeing all the adorable pictures of the cast pulling each other along in the park I got an idea. It's not quite what I expected but I hope someone will like it.

It wasn't quite the same but this wasn't the first time Noah Puckerman had grabbed Rachel Berry's hand and run. Rachel remembered, she remembered all of it. Yes he was being tugged along by Brittany, they were all holding hands and running, but Rachel couldn't shake the deja-vu of Noah tugging her away from a boy. He'd done the same in preschool when Levi Goldman had taken hold of her hand and refused to let go until she promised to be his wife. Rachel had no intention of being Levi's wife, he wasn't quite as bad as Jacob but she had no desire to be stuck with him for the rest of her life. Luckily she hadn't been stuck there long because Noah Puckerman, slightly bigger than Levi had grabbed her other hand and told Levi that she couldn't be his wife because she was going to be Noah's. That idea didn't seem so terrible to her. She'd nodded enthusiastically and Noah had taken off running tugging Rachel along with him.

Rachel felt the same rush of pure joy course through her as Noah pulled her along. She couldn't deny that she was happy to have Noah as her friend again. He'd never actually denied knowing her, but he'd never told anyone exactly how close they'd been. No one else knew that they ate lunch together every day in preschool and that she'd asked her Daddies to pack extra cookies for Noah. No one else knew that they refused to sleep next to anyone else at nap time and that the boy had fallen asleep with his fingers curled in the long strands of the little girl's hair more often than not. No one else knew that on Valentine's Day she'd run up and kissed him on the cheek and not knowing what else to do he'd grabbed her face and kissed her full on the mouth. And almost been suspended until the Puckermans and Berry's talked to the school and explained that it really was alright.

No one but Rachel and Noah, and their parents of course knew these things. And if they did they pretended they didn't. When the group stopped, out of breath he looked down at her with a strange look.

“Is something wrong Noah?”

“Nope.”

Rachel was a little disappointed which confused her and and so looked away slowly. It was entirely possible that he didn't remember these things like she did. She did have the tendency to remember things no one else did. To remember everything as much as she wanted everything.

“Hey Rach?”

She looked back to him expectantly and noticed the smile forming at the corners of his mouth.

“You remember preschool?”

Rachel smiled and nodded. His smile cut across his face and he grabbed her hand again. Rachel got the distinct feeling he wasn't going to be letting go any time soon. For a moment she feared Lauren but when she looked around cautiously for the other girl she noticed a smile on Lauren Zizes' face. And not the “I'm going to destroy you and have fun doing it” smile Rachel had expected. She was pulled back to the moment by Noah's scoffing laugh. She looked up at him expecting the worst.

“What's so funny Noah?”

He shook his head and sighed. She was reminded of his expression from their walk through the mall when he and Kurt had organized her “Barbravention”.

“If I'da known all it took to get you away from Finn was to act like we were in preschool again. Well Damn Berry I coulda done that ages ago.”

She rolled her eyes and pushed up on the toes of her wedge shoes to plant a kiss on his cheek. Noah chuckled and grabbed her pulling her in for a kiss that was so not preschool.
