Anti-Muslim hate group sponsors week of events at 150 campuses across the US
The Freedom Center, a far right wing, pro-war, anti-arab hate group
formed by racist pundit David Horowitz, is sponsoring a week of
Anti-Muslim events on campuses across the US called "Islamo-Fascism
Week."
You may remember David Horowitz for his campaign against reparations
for slavery in the '90s, in which he claimed that African-Americans
should be "grateful" because their ancestors were kidnapped and
enslaved. He has also been a leader in attacks against liberal and
Left academics across the US.
The week will include protests at Women's Studies departments
(demanding that women's studies departments teach classes against
Islam), film screenings, and talks by right wing leaders such as
former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, Fox news host Sean
Hannity, and Fox pundit Ann Coulter, who has said, referring to
US policy in the Middle East, "We should invade their countries, kill
their leaders, and convert them to Christianity." At some campuses,
posters have gone up asking, "Hate Muslims? We do too!"
In the face of these hateful and ugly attacks across the country, many
have organized positive and creative responses, ranging from
demonstrations, to counter organizing of events such as "Peace and
Tolerance Week."
