Writer lulu makes sense. I'd also keep going to places you like to go, and see if they are hiring.
If you're looking for something different, you might want to check out some of the jobs at www.goodworkcanada.com
I know that you liked WWOOFing, and sometimes they have job postings that have WWOOFing like components. Alliance for Arts might also have some interesting things to do.
http://www.allianceforarts.com (Some pretty office-y jobs there now, but there are also positions for picture framers, etc)
Would you like to try teaching? Are there community organizations that could benefit from having someone teach knitting to a group? What about teaching knitting at a place like The Purple Thistle? (http://www.purplethistle.ca) (I taught a four session workshop on journalism there, and it was a lot of fun. Not a lot of $, but it did give me some opportunities.) Or I'm sure that you could do some Internet marketing and teach some ladies how to knit or craft out of your studio.
I was recently inspired by Sarah Selecky, a writer who has a MFA and teaches her own creative writing courses right out of her house!! (For $400 a class. This floored me)
It's very hard to keep up momentum when you are working from home/working alone. The best things to do are to make some routines. Make sure you get some creative work done every day. Get out or your house every day. PHYSICALLY leave it. I find I'm also way more inspired when I spend time with friends or go to a lecture or something where I'm learning, so I try to do this multiple times a week.
It's very easy to get mired in your own head, and get isolated. I struggle with it all the time, so I'm just giving you some suggestions from what I learned.
Those are some great links (and advice) - thank you! The knitting classes idea jumped out at me right away. I have had so many people talk about wanting to learn to knit. It wouldn't pay the bills necessarily but it's a start.
