Hi! I have many things I should be talking about!

Apr 04, 2010 15:05

- Went to the Leverage CON Con . 'Twas awesome.

I'm VASTLY belated for recapping purposes, and shall instead direct you to our wonderful con-buddy, pennyplainknits Post on the topic , as it would be much the same pics and squee ANYWAY.

Additional highlight: So, the Mark Sheppard panel turned into an impromptu SPN discussion, complete with John Rogers geeking out about the "mytharc" and Mark talking about working with Danneel Harris a few weeks before he flew out to shoot SPN; Danneel told Mark to be sure to say high to her fiance. When Mark asked which one he was, she replied "Mine's the little one". Awwww, Danny! :D

- Went to the Kane concert. 'Twas VERY VERY GAY. I think Chris was so drunk he forgot that he and Steve aren't out of the closet.

Once again, see Penny's post on the topic for extra details Also, at one point during the con, someone inquired about the necklace Chris wears, both on and off the show. It's a silver guitar pick made from a Mexican Peso. Chris sort of dodged the question, explaining that he "just likes it". However, once can note that STEVE has an identical necklace, which you can see in This pic . BOYFRIENDS. IJS.

- Put in an offer on a house. 'Twas scarily GROWN UP!

However, we signed this VERY IMPORTANT paperwork while sitting in a hole-in-the-wall pizza place, listening to "Rock You Like a Hurricane". There was a Spider Man pinball machine. It all balances out?

The house is a short sale, so it might be a while before we hear back, and we're still looking in the meantime. DUDE, I did not realize that many houses were SO VERY STRANGE inside! We are having ADVENTURES. I'm 80% sure one place had a haunted attic. A SECRET haunted attic with 3 rooms accessible only through a back bedroom's closet.

- We had some lovely weather for a while. I like spring:

(click for full size. As they are gigantic pics!)

- SPN this week, VERY GOOD! I don't have much to add, but I LOVE MY SHOW!

- My computer had a memory freakout while trying to burn a DVD, and ATE NEARLY ALL OF MY FILES. Everything I had saved in desktop folders! Over 30 GB of videos and pictures! Whole runs of TV shows! All of my photoshop files (thankfully, my personal photography was tucked elsewhere)

OH NOES! I now need to rebuild my ABSURD, STALKERY collection of pictures of William Beckett. Also, Panic Boys. And the MCR boys. Oh, the hardship of staring at thousands of picures of Frank Iero or Spencer Smith again....

- Went to the AP Spring tour on Friday night. Saw The Summer Set, Every Avenue, THE CAB, Hey Monday, and NeverShoutNever. DUDE, I was in my very first mosh pit! WHAT IS MY LIFE?

The line - NOT FUN. VERY COLD. Not especially efficient.

We missed about half of The Summer Set's set while huddling for warmth. What we did see: Awwww, they are such cute kids! I actually really like their album (slightly punky power-pop, and Brian, their lead singer, sounds a lot like a punk boy version of Brittany Spears. It's adorable. Also, he and Singer of the Cab are the cutest thing ever on twitter).

They put on a pretty decent show, especially considering that Brian broke his ankle last week and can't move around stage at all.

Every Avenue: Um, maybe they are better on other tours? Everyone else on this tour is ADORABLE KIDS, and these guys are a bit older and sort of offputtingly vulgar in comparison? Eh.

The Cab: So, this is why I bought the tickets, and I am happy to report that they are NOT EMBARRASSING AT ALL in person. I've got sort of an "yeah, I know, BUT" love of their music, and Alex DeLeon (Singer - as they are ALL named Alex and it's confusing :D) is kind of THE SWEETEST PERSON EVER, and I'm endlessly happy he exists, but I was sort of worried that I'd feel really dumb?

HOWEVER: I am quite impressed! Singer is a tiny, charismatic little NINJA, is ALL OVER that little stage and really connects to the audience, and he clearly loves what he is doing and loves the audience and manages to be not-at-all skeevy while announcing that he "ha[s] to be honest. This is a song about sex."

Some pics (Please note - I was sort of IN THE MOSH PIT. With my camera *fails*. So I'm grabbing the few that aren't blurry :D. Click for larger?)

(Yep, there are other people in this band, too. They were just harder too see :D)

(I know it's blurry, but I sort of LOVE the affect of this shot!)

Hey Monday: again, um? It might just be that I'm a hard sell on female voices, but I tend to find them a bit boring. COMPETENT. They are good out there, and having a lot of fun, but I sort of wish someone got Cassadee some more interesting songs? And perhaps my lack of connection had to do with giving up on the mosh pit and slipping back to the mostly deserted, 21-and-over balcony/ bar. Where we were the only people not there with their kids.

NeverShoutNever: HE'S A KITTEN. SERIOUSLY:

Yep. ADORABLE. and TALENTED. And deservedly going to be HUGELY FAMOUS, and wow, the little fangirls go CRAZY for this kid. That gigantic voice sounds just as good in person. Even me_maneuver, who is a hard sell on music, was impressed. Awwww. KITTENS.

All and all, FUNTIMES. Even if 5 hours of CONCERT is hell on my messed up feet and going out to shows after work makes for 19 hour days.

- THIS WEEK. BITCHIN' PARTY. OMG WTF GOING TO MORE CONS.

Um, if no one else steps up to host it, anyone interested in a Vampire Diaries and SPN viewing party?

fangirl adventures in the real world, vampire diaries, bandom, i go to concerts now, leverage, photography, supernatural
