Notice: Concerning Myspace, Facebook, and Their Ilk
I do not use Facebook or Myspace.
I believe at some point I have created accounts on both of these sites to check them out. I believe I have also deleted the Myspace account at least once, but that doesn't stop me from getting e-mails. Nor does that seem to stop people from finding me on those sites, apparently. Yay for the Internet.
I don't use the sites. If you add me as a friend, I will not add you back. If you include me in the weird little applications that cluster around Facebook like piglets to their mother's teat, I am not going to do anything but delete the e-mail informing me that you have made me your BFF or want me to guess what pop group you are most like or whateverthehell else is going around this week like a rash-forming virus.
While the above paragraph likely reads on the catty side, I assure you, I have no real disdain for people who do make use of social networking sites such as Facebook or Myspace. I just want it out there that I'm not rollin' wif dat crew, as it were. The last thing I want is for anyone to add me as a BFF or what-have-you and then wring their hands when I don't reciprocate. I'm not dissing you.
I just can't stand the interfaces. I swear that's all there is to it.
