what a day
i still owe an update from my weekend in chicago, but that seems a little silly at the moment.
i got an email from peter this morning at 9:50 to tell me he was okay. he missed the kings cross bombing by a few minutes. he left work early to try to make his way home to brockley. i hope he made it/makes it there safely. i am still shaken by the idea of how close he came to being involved in the bombing, but i just have to thank the universe that he was left unharmed.
my heart just breaks for those who lost someone today and for those injured and scared. americans certainly understand the panic and fear of terrorism after 9/11 and britons remember the years of ira bombings as well. i've blogged about this and i don't think i have anything else to say, really.
i wish the world was different. i wish this wasn't our reality. but it is.
i'm off to fountain square for a rally. more about that later.
