[ First Philip met up with Dean. Then unhappy memories were created.

And now the adrenaline wears off and Philip wonders if there was a point to his escape to begin with.

He remembers when Clarence of all people reminds him that he meant to warn "the love of his life... oh yeah, and Evie too"And so he reaches for the communication device, hoping ( Read more... )

[Evie didn't catch Philip's last transmission, but she did get a message he left a little while ago. Pity it didn't come in handy.]

Philip?

[Even the signals seem to have more static and interference in the hallways.]

Philip? It's Evie. Can you hear me?

[ Technically his transmission never switched off, so there is an entirely non-reassuring piece of video for those who want it.

Not that the blood and darkness provides much of a visual anyway, but... ]

Hey...

[ Philip smiles at Evie's voice, presently a little too removed from reality to know or care where it comes from or realise that it might be helpful to respond to it in a more elaborate manner. ]

[She switches her own video on, though there isn't much to see. Philip's end of things appears to be smeared in something really unpleasant.]

Philip, I- I went to the dining hall, and you weren't there, there was-

[She swallows hard. Honestly, she's just happy he picked up after what she saw.]

There was blood...everywhere. Chairs across the floor, just- Please tell me you're all right, whatever happened, do you need help?

[ Something... jumbled... dining hall... something something-- She didn't get the message! ]

No, don't! Not the dining hall, it's Dean, he'ssssaaanghhhhh.

[ Rapid movements are not a good idea in Philip's condition. Bolting into an upright sitting position and screaming in a raspy voice at the top of his already strained lungs qualifies as such.

And as such the rest of his statement is replaced by a cough as a sharp and painful stinging sensation in Philip's head makes him keel over and retch up the entire lack of breakfast he's had today. ]

[When he bends to throw up, she gets a really good look at Philip's front.

...Oh, God. Oh God, he's a mess, he's covered in blood and he's vomiting and somewhere in the dark, alone, and there's nothing she can do about it.]

No! No, I'm fine, but you- you...Philip, you need help.

[There's so much red.]

Where are you?

[Evie resists the urge to add a demanding tell me right now to the end of that.]

[ If it was for him he'd never tell. No need for her to see him like this, no need to risk her life by coming down here.

But it's not up to him. It's misunderstanding Evie's message, it's mistaking his thoughts for something he voices out loud, it's something that makes him mumble ]

...don't know if he's still in the caves...

[ into the device. ]

The caves?

[Evelyn didn't even know they had caves. How on earth is she supposed to locate them?]

How do I- Philip, how do I find you down there?

[She's trying very hard not to panic.]

[ !!!

...yep, that about sums up his thoughts. ]

Don't.

[ He's learned his lesson and offers his panic in moderation, although the message is no less urgent. ]

Stay where... just... I'll be fine.

[ It has a desperate sense of determination to it, but at the same time there is probably no tone convincing enough for this kind of message in his kind of situation.

(But he tries, because that's just about how clear his thoughts are at the moment.) ]

[Don't? There's enough blood on his...on his shirt to imply that he can't possibly remain conscious for much longer. What if he bleeds out? What if he dies?]

But-

[Evelyn huffs in frustration, glancing around. Whoever Dean is and whatever he looks like and whatever he's doing, it doesn't particularly matter to her.]

Just- Just be careful, please.

[Until I find you.]

You... you too.

[ He smiles with relief because she understands and because that means he can stop talking now, in fact now that she knows and is warned he can pretty much stop doing anything. ]
