Within a year, this, Sam as the solitary inhabitant in another nameless motel room with just one bed, too deep in the hunt to think of a different life, is going to be reality.

Are you trying to make me dissolve in a puddle of my own tears? How do you make me all angst-ridden with a META?! BTW, you know that angst is my favorite thing ... fic and now apparently meta, right? :)

First, I LOVE this picture and the fact that you choose it to tease apart. The 8-pointed stars, the Beatitudes, the barely touched bed (closest to the door ... which during S1/S2 was always Dean's bed, you know, with him being the "big brother protector" and all), how totally awesome is your BRAIN!? Wow.

I also like how the color symbolism is evolving. This is what fandom/meta-ing is all about and it makes me happy to know that the collective brain is at work.

After seeing your screencap, I was curious about the green so I rewatched that scene. It seems to me that the green is from the leaves of the flowers because in a similar shot of that montage you can see the blurry (and curiously bright) red/yellow flowers next to the green. I think that the green looks esp. saturated because the light from the window reflecting off of them (or was made to reflect off of them *wink*).

Oh, BTW, this screencap? I tucked it away for my Part II gloom and doom meta, so this reinforces your idea that it's nearly impossible to meta on 3x02 without including this cap. Or else we're all connected at the brain, a three-headed SPN monster. ;)

*wonders if writing angsty meta is a sin*

See what I think all day long? Why I have hard time believing, at the moment, that S3 will have even half as optimistic Finale as S2?
Your delight in angst has been noted, too, but I can't say it was intentional here. *hugs*

Between you, hugemind and delphinapterus, I'll admit defeat and accept the plants as the source of the green. They're the only plausible explanation, really.

That shot hit me, hard, and wouldn't let go. It's just so perfect. Mad kudos for the director of the episode for creating it, because you can look at it so many ways, you know.

So far the only 8-pointed things I've noticed during S3 have been the window in 3x01, the mirror-stars in 3x02 and the binding symbol (6th Pentacle of the Moon) in 3x03. :)

And that "Sam's fractured reflection in a mirror"-thing? Was used again in 3x04, at the end. That shot took me by surprise at first, but now... Sam's soul is just a tiny little bit more tarnished at that time...
*sigh*

Thank You for reading, like always!
*hugs*

You and me both. Right now my bets are on "Dean dies". Of course, not forever. But his death fits the overall pattern, and it would be a fantastic catalyst for a bunch of other AWESOME events. You know the saying "up the stakes" in storytelling, well, this would certainly do it in more ways than one. Maybe later on in S3 I'll finally put together that three season story arc meta. *thinks*

That shot hit me, hard

Poor Sam. Yeah, the defeated sort of helpless sigh he gives during that shot made my angst-o-meter jump off the charts.

If I notice any 8-pointed anythings, I'll let you know. The mirrors seem to pop up (so far) whenever Sam and Ruby are together. It makes me wonder if someone somewhere is working the whole reflection of twin souls angle. Plus, I really want Sam and Ruby to be parallel characters so the mirror motif would tie in nicely with that *engages in wishful thinking*. I would love it if she really was a human or maybe a human who sold her soul to become a demon and has a tiny bit of remorse deep down (this is partially why I want to find out how demons are made). Ruby should keep her own agenda and still be pushy and ruthless, but I want her character to round out a bit.

Ack. Why can't I stop rambling?
