Game time

So because I'm cheap, I'm not really up on all the exciting new video games. Well, I guess I 'm staying current with Rock Band. But anyway, since the sequels to Mass Effect and Bioshock were recently released, I decided to get the originals since they're cheaper now. Oh, and I got LEGO Batman because that was also cheap. Super cheap.

Bioshock was extremely well done, and I think it deserved all the praise and hype that it got a couple years ago when it was new. After finishing it, I wanted to play through it all over again immediately after, which I did.

Now I'm playing Mass Effect. Part of the big deal about this is that it's made by the same people that made the Knights of the Old Republic games, which are highly regarded. It takes place in an immersive, highly detailed world. A big part of the gameplay is interacting with different characters, taking in information about the game's universe, and developing your relationships with your companions. And sometimes, you shoot some fools. I'm kind of having a hard time adjusting to it, because it seems like it's more about the talking than the action. It's more like an interactive movie than a game, when I was expecting it to be more action oriented. I guess I should have known better since I've played Knights of the Old Republic. I never even finished it, and that's a Star Wars game. I may be more inclined to finish Mass Effect, if only because I paid for it, and don't want to waste my money.

LEGO Batman, btw, was a lot of fun, as the LEGO games tend to be. I might want to get the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter
