God save the Queen
What's the deal with playing the national anthem at the beginning of sporting events? If they are international sporting events, it makes sense, but otherwise, I don't see the point. I suspect this has origins in anti-Soviet paranoia days, but I'm probably completely wrong. Anybody have a definitive answer?
