Writer's Block: Teenagers & Car Accidents
I would say it's a mix of not enough experience and sharing their attention between the road and various other devices (i.e. cell phones, music, friends, or just thinking.) I think as you become more experienced with driving, it becomes more second nature and you can handle doing things like talking to the passenger or listening (or in my case, singing) to music.
