the romance of bored teenagers in the summer
Well, after work I called the police to report my car stereo being stolen. I wasn't going to, since I know that stuff is nigh impossible to recover, but I figured I had the magnet tool that was left behind that could be handy to them.
It turns out that there's been a rash of about 20 similar burglaries in the immediate area, and a lot of the stuff is getting dropped into bushes around the neighborhood. This sounds like the work of bored teenagers.
Anyway, the officer that showed up had my stereo in his trunk, as some old man had found it in his shrubbery up the street. The cop also managed to get some great prints off it. The tool that was left behind has some serial/registration number etched on it, so there's also that lead. If they "break the case," they think it'll be the evidence they got from me that does it.
And, best of all, I GOT MY SPECIAL OTHERS CD BACK!
