still my guitar gently weeps...

Still alive. I promise. :) (I find it amusing that I feel the need to verify this when it's only been two days or so since my last update..) Life proceeds apace as ever... Finished working my way through Role Playing and Identity, a largely useless (for my purposes) crazy theatrical-philsophical work that yielded a few interesting notes in my thesis o'DOOM notebook and nearly put me to sleep yesterday afternoon in the Wynnewood Borders. Someone make note of this- never attempt to read about the construction of identity over a large non-fat steamed milk with a shot of sugar-free hazelnut when you're already pooped. (But on the other hand, PHWOAR I am clearly hardcore ;)

Also went to my first rehearsal for 'Mattress' last night- the director is a dear. I don't know how we got him, but I hope we keep him. :) (I make him sound like a puppy...) He's of the type that jumps up every few minutes to explain something new, happy to demonstrate so everyone knows what he's talking about- quite unlike the director of productions past.... So, I'm a happy camper, although still slightly trepidatious of my song. Particularly pleasant is the abundance of Outskirts in the cast. We all got together for a pre-rehearsal dinner yesterday, and it's just lovely to goof around in the background of a scene with your friends. I haven't really been able to do that since 'Oklahoma!', what... seven years ago? Gosh. Now I feel old. ;)

FAB was showing 'The Life Aquatic' last night, so I took in another viewing. It was amusing to see how the Wes Anderson fans lapped up so many parts, while some people Just Didn't Get It. (I'm sorry, but I have to quote my beloved carloin, 'I like movies like... like The Little Princess!') I got an appreciation this time around for just how neatly WA can have humour and pathos coexist in the same moment... that and I love Seu Jorge's David Bowie covers way more than is probably healthy. ;)

As for now, I am waiting around for onelegume and ___christina to show up so that we can go sample the delights of King of Prussia. They've left a series of amusing notes on my door- and here is C in person! Hurrah! We are to leave shortly. :) I hope the sun is shining for you all this afternoon, as I am suddenly in a good mood (brought on, oddly enough, by the Beatles' 'Yer Blues') and hope to have it spread. :)

P.S. Erm, major East Enders spoilers, if anyone's interested.....

OMGOMGOMGOMGWTFBBQ- the breaking news of the EVER: Dirty Den is DEAD!!!! (AGAIN)
*wails*

Actually, he's been kind of unspeakably awful to everyone since his latest return. But still. Damn, but I wish I were back with my old flatmates for this one... The delight on Atty's face at the return of Den was a beautiful thing to watch. ;) Oh, Den. How we shall mourn you. Well, maybe not Sharon, at this point. (Shannis is totally my EE OTP) Oo, the delicious fallout that awaits come Monday. :) :) :)
