because it makes me SAD that Ten retreads the emotimelordpain that Nine's arc should have fixed
but then when Eleven seems to be facing the same idea of You bring danger to folks you care about, I AM OKAY WITH THAT because Eleven didn't learn the lesson, Ten heard it
I ACKNOWLEDGE MY BIAS
but i also claim the right to divide the journeys of each doctor as i see fit
Jess: I feel like my PERSONAL CANON
which has LITTLE TO NO regard for ACTUAL canon
is that he retains the MEMORIES but the ABSORPTION can vary wildly
me: i think that TOTALLY FAIR
Jess: thus SOME THINGS can feel like nothing but boring retreads and OTHERS can feel like "YES YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS AGAIN"

seriously- WHY ELSE travel with Amy?
he spent his first series on this EPIC QUEST to fix her
and i think he still feels like he keeps owing her joy after causing her so much pain
Jess: and he just CANNOT give it to her
and I agree that I wanted MORE stress and/or anger from Amy in this episode
especially after that little mini-preview that they released
me: SO PAINFUL
that IS one of the glories of amelia pond, though
she always forgives the Doctor
Jess: she does

me: like, EVEN AFTER she has just had to wait ANOTHER TWO YEARS, she sees him as old and kind and unable to let children cry
she must have cried SO MUCH over him, but she always knew he was the good guy
IT IS WHY SHE NEEDS AND DESERVES AND LOVES RORY
because he is JUST AS AMAZING as the Doctor and he will NEVER EVER LET HER DOWN (unlike the Doctor)
Jess: and I LOVED those moments in the part 1 finale when she was telling melody about her father
I LOVED THEM

Jess: and I LOVED the bit in this week's ep when she realized that Rory was in love with her
IT WAS PRECIOUS
