OH SUCH DAYS.
Thing the first- my theatre is hosting the NTS's Black Watch and pretty much everyone I know who's seen it has been profoundly affected by the experience, myself included. I knew of the play from
bohemiabythesea posting about it many moons ago, but I was not prepared. I might have had the worst seat in the house at last Thursday's matinee (I could hardly distinguish the actors from each other for half the play*), and when I walked out, my hands were shaking and I didn't want to do anything but sit and be quiet and think about things (and reconsider a lot more). Mostly, I was just SO EXCITED to be a theatre fan- Coworker T was exactly right when she said that all she wanted to do was get into a rehearsal hall and start working on something. It was also exciting just because 2/3 of our theatre's staff was in the audience that day (it opened Wednesday night and press night wasn't til Friday, so there was still availability for that day) (there is NO MORE availability). The only thing better than seeing amazing theatre is knowing that SO MANY of your friends are out there, seeing it with you. I got to go again today on a CSR with Emma and it was a genuine treat- I got a seat in the second row and it was AMAZING. Knowing the story, I got to focus more on the details, choosing more carefully where I looked and what I could take in.

Thing the second- I got to see the Folger's 'Comedy of Errors' on Sunday and I want to PUNCH ITS DIRECTOR IN THE TEETH. ARGH. He did a FANTASTIC production and it's FUN and the cast is SUPER and then he put a STUPID PROLOGUE FRAME STORY on it. OH AARON POSNER. IMMA PUNCH YOU ONE DAY.
* In my defense, I was far back and the actors spend half the show in identical uniforms with identical haircuts. IT WAS DIFFICULT, OKAY.
