Yesterday did not exactly exist. It was Lost Day. I managed to catch a version of a nasty bug that roommate Celeste had come down with over the weekend- mine was less severe, but I was feverish and wretched Tuesday night, not sleeping well, except to have bizarre fever dreams. For instance- on the recommendation of several friends, I bought a copy of
The Magicians a few days ago off Amazon. The novel has not yet arrived, and I have only the slimmest understanding of the concept, but I was having strange, elaborate dreams that I was IN the novel. It'll be interesting to see how the real thing stacks up next to my own version...
ANYWAY. I woke up to an alarm at 9AM, but woozily walked to my dresser to find a glass of water I'd left there the night before, downed it, and then went back to bed until almost 5PM. Again, there were lots of weird dreams, mostly about symbolic snow shoveling (... yeah), before I decided to get up and stagger to the couch. I could finally get a glimpse of the blizzard conditions outside, but just wasn't interested. I still had power, thank goodness, and that was about all I could be bothered to care about. I plunked myself down on couch and finished watching the second season of Farscape until my brain started to pick up again. Round about 8PM, I could tell that I was feeling better, although still not great. I drank more water and ate a rice cake- MY LIFE IS SO EXCITING, WHAT. I went back at bed at about 10PM, and slept ten times better than I had the night before.
I honestly don't know the last time that I day just DID NOT EXIST for me in such a dramatic fashion. It's very bizarre.
As of this morning, I officially feel like a human being again. I'm still a little iffy, but my brain is working properly, which is great- it means I can actually get some work done and answer emails and feel like myself again. I doubt I'll be doing any snow shoveling, symbolic or otherwise, but now that the wind has calmed down and the sun is shining, it looks like we came out of the most recent snow (termed by C, Snowfuckingway) on the lower end of the prediction here. There are plenty of cars out on the road, which I take to be a good sign, and seeing as how I know for a FACT that there can't possibly be a tree on my car this time, I am in no rush.
