I am returned from the wild of Virginia! I realized on this trip that if you go two miles from the playhouse, you will find COWS. Oh, wee tiny town with a Blackfriars, you never fail to amuse me. I got some good work done while I was there, and got some valuable information, but I am still not doing as well as I'd hoped- I didn't get to interview any current actors in the company, but my Contact Person understands, I think, just how necessary it is to the project to speak with them, so I have hope she'll help me make it happen. I'll be back on Friday to interview one of the co-founders of the company, so there's THAT. I am behind, but it is not ENTIRELY inconceivable that all will be well. YAY POSITIVE (ISH) THINKING!
I am slightly concerned about the well-being of Steve, my noble car. As I was setting out on Wednesday, his Check Engine light turned on- two days, of course, after I had several hundred dollars of work done on him. Because things seemed to be ok, and I HAD to get to Staunton, I went ahead. Things seemed to be doing well, as I made it with no trouble and only drove him a few miles in the time I was there. Of course, coming home today, I realized that things had progressed to troublesome- any time he's driven under highway speeds, the temperature indicator goes well above normal levels. Never all the way to problematically hot, but WAY higher than his usual level. So THAT's awesome. No, I shouldn't have driven 400 miles past when the light came on, but I didn't feel like I had a choice. I fully plan on going back to the shop tomorrow and playing the righteously indignant customer- this is the SECOND time this has happened with this shop, and I'm pretty sure I won't be going back to them. I FEEL ILL USED, MIDAS OF PINEY BRANCH LN, SILVER SPRING.
Aiee, time for choir rehearsal. But before I go! MEEEEEEEEEME!
What's surprised you the most about me (if anything) since beginning to read my LJ (or when you met me IRL, for those who have)? Has anything about me been completely unexpected or have I always fit the picture of me you had in your head?
I LOVE this idea. Play along at home, folks!
