Things I like thus far about Richmond, Virginia:

1. Beer
I thought Nashville is a good beer town, which it is, but Richmond is just as good. There is a local brewery called Legend which makes some great beer. Their brown ale is about the best I've ever had. I haven't visited the brewery itself just yet, but I will soon. The local Kroger has a more diverse selection of six-packs than JJ's does, which is quite astonishing. Plus, Yuengling (a Pennsylvania beer, for those of you who don't know) is on tap at every bar. So yes, I am a happy man.

2. Wawa
They have Wawa Markets here (Sheetz too), which makes me happy.

3. Cary St.
Cary St is a cool area in Richmond with lots of hole-in-the-wall local restaurants. I ate at a cafe/bar there tonight and it was great.

4. Trees
I've always thought the trees in Virginia are some of the prettiest anywhere in America. The land here is very beautiful, especially now that spring is blooming.

5. Bartenders
Most of the bartenders in Nashville are cold. For all the times I've sat at a Nashville bar either alone or with friends, I've never had a bartender strike up a conversation with me. Not the case in Richmond. I've had several good conversations with bartenders here already (yeah, I've been drinking a lot). Very friendly people.
