So, they didn't offer me a job. But that's fine, it's kind of expected, they weren't looking for anyone anyway.
The guy was really nice though. He gave me his business card and told me to give him a call when I start looking for work placements. I spoke to him about the current state of design *cough*wankery*cough* my career "plans" and how I would prefer to work in print rather than screen. He told me that he and the people in News Limited *cough*evil*cough* owe each other favours. He said he could try to help me in getting a work placement position with them.
After that I met up with my godfather, who initiated the meeting, and also spoke to him about my career "plans". In response he picked up the phone and dialed some sort of advertising/publicity firm who apparently work closely with Harpers Bazaar and Vogue. eep! I could possibly be working for them, maybe???
Now, it would be rather lovely to work for them.
It's still early to start getting all excited. So I'll see how it pans out. But I'm building up my contacts which always helps.
ps.1. The company is
Millmaine.
ps.2. Semi-Permanent was fun. Free drinks two nights in a row. SCORE! But more on that later, maybe.
