Marriage Equality NY
I received this today and wanted to share, in case anyone here is from District 40 (covering Northern Westchester County, all of Putnam, and Eastern Dutchess):
"We are so close! Marriage Equality could be a reality after this week, but only if we act now! This is the final push and we have to pull out all the stops.
Yesterday not only was an official bill released by Governor Cuomo but two other Republican Senators, Alesi and McDonald, have indicated their support for marriage equality. This puts the total of Senators supporting Marriage at 31, we need 32 for passage!
However, our Lower Hudson Valley state senator Greg Ball is STILL undecided. He is still listening to his constituents and we need to be heard! Please forward this email to anyone you know in the District 40 (covering Northern Westchester, all of Putnam, and Eastern Dutchess) and ask them to take one second to call Senator Greg Ball and tell him to vote YES on marriage equality. It is impossible to overstate how crucial the next few days are and while we are close, we are not there yet!
