FAST FORWARD
Fast, fast, fast forward all at once
It's a little too much for three blind mice
If your different and driving
Don't run out of gas in Nebraska
Falls city & Lincoln sucks
Falls city & Lincoln sucks
Brandon Tina Tina Brandon
Brandon Tina Tina Brandon
Don't stop to kiss the sky
Don't stop to count the cars
Don't stop to say goodbye
If your different and driving
Don't run out of gas in Nebraska
Falls city & Lincoln sucks
Falls city & Lincoln sucks
Brandon Tina Tina Brandon
Brandon Tina Tina Brandon
Don't stop to say goodbye

The first time that I heard about Brandon was from my friend Morgan Baker. We were in Seattle curbside at a cafe. Morgan was reading an article about Brandon from a circular about gay, lesbian, bi and transgender people who were victims of hate crimes. It was very painful to hear the words, as Morgan read them to me, tears streamed from Morgan’s eyes and mine. I never heard anything else about Brandon until the release of Boys Don’t Cry. It was even more difficult to get through that film then it was that day in Seattle with Morgan. When it came to the actual scene in the film where Brandon is being raped I had to fast forward past it all because I could not bring myself to watch that imagery. I was a victim of abduction and brutal rape myeslf in the 1970's. I was in my teens in San Francisco, California. I was abducted by a man as I got off a bus that I had been riding all night. I was able to get away from my captor but only after I was abused and raped. I can’t imagine what it was like to live as Brandon and I wont pretend that I know what she went through. I have been through a lot in my own life but not anything like what Brandon had to endure to be true to herself, even unto her own death.
