Peninnah has no parents nor does she see anyone as a parental figure. She does see both her sculptor and God as her creators. She recognizes that they have given her life but she does not see them as parents. While she understands what it is to be a parent she doesn't believe she has them herself. Despite this she often defers to people who know more than she does in a very parent to daughter way.
