In my ongoing effort to improve my meager drawing skills, I have identified three major areas of focus: movement and dynamics, anatomy, and expression. Tonight, I am posting on the topic of expressions.
I figured the best way to improve on rendering emotions effectively was to seek out the most exaggerated picture of the desired emotion and try drawing that.
Example 1.
This is the picture that I drew based off the above picture, no frills.
Awful, I know. ^^;
The next drawing I did was basically the same, taking reference from the photo, but this time stylizing the drawing a bit.
And the last one is just taking the stylization up to eleven and exaggerating the snot out of it.
