[Early this morning, Ky got up and went to Mass for Ash Wednesday. So, for the rest of the day, he will have a cross of ash marked upon his forehead. Feel free to approach him about it if you're curious.]

[Saber is passing by on one of her walks...full of odd and conflicting feelings due to the Valentine's day event...when she happens to notice Ky.]

[She has a look of surprise on her face, as she tentatively approaches him and offers a courtly bow.]

Good morning to you, Sir Kiske. I am ashamed to say that I did not know Lent began today.

Ah, so are you Catholic, as well?

Yes, I am.

Being in this strange place I was unsure of when Lent would begin.

I had to look into it myself, so I don't think anyone can blame you. Especially if you've not eaten any meat yet today.

I have not...I have not been attending services as I am unsure of what it is like in later times...but I feel as if I should start.

Masses did not really change much until the Second Vatican Council. However, Vatican II did not convene until 1962, so, for example, the Mass here in Mayfield is still said in Latin as opposed to the vernacular used in the location of the parish.

Hmm...I see.

However still...this is quite a few centuries later...

As they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

I suppose so.

Perhaps I will see you on Sunday, then.

An I you.

Enjoy your Ash Wednesday, Sir Kiske.

[With that, Saber offers another bow and takes her leave.]
