It was originally Fate's idea. An organized group of us who were ready, capable, and willing to defend those who cannot defend themselves should the need ever arise. That way, we'll be better prepared in case another event puts anybody in mortal peril.

I think that is a wise decision, given the circumstances. I'd like to offer my services. I may not be much help in a physical confrontation, but I can use my magic to heal or strengthen weapons.

You're more than welcome to help us. Those who cannot directly protect but can still offer support are also vital to such a group.

We would actively protect those who cannot protect themselves from whatever this town may attempt.

But the news said that the people in that other town turned on each other. How can we fight that?

We'll have to formulate a plan for that scenario -- if it even happens. I would not put it above the powers that be to spread lies through the mass media.

And this militia won't be for one incident. It will remain in place, hopefully as long as there are people in Mayfield who do not belong here.

I told Fate she could count me in her militia, but I also promised I'd stick to my house at 1762 Beaver, and look after anyone who wants to stay there.
