so, i was influenced by marko's first picture post in awhile to finally get my shit together and make a post of my own. i've been in paris for over a month and a half and i haven't shown anyone any pictures. this is mainly because a)i'm lazy b)i don't have internet at my house c)my computer doesn't get internet at school cuz shit's gay d)i'm a busy little lady. paris, in a nutshell, is amazing. i wasn't doing so good at first, being homesick and all that. but things have gotten much better. i mean, they aren't perfect but i definitely love being here so much and it's going to be hard to leave when i have to. not that you guys care about any of that. now let's get to the pictures...
this picture basically sums up what i do here: eat. this is ice cream from berthillon. it's the best ice cream in paris. kate and i usually treat ourselves to it when we do something worth congratulating, like going to class.
this is kate sitting on the bank of the seine on the ile saint louis, looking onto the ile de la cite, where the notre dame is located. this is usually where we eat our berthillon ice cream, being scared that we are going to drop it into the seine, or even worse, fall into the seine ourselves.
cece and jo sitting on the ile saint louis. i like them. jo is from santa cruz and cece is from san diego.
carry on in paris. this record store also had that dvd that cheap sex dvd that louis put out and talks about all the time.
peg bundy meets the eiffel tower! this is at the champs de mars, the park that is right under the eiffel tower. picnics happen there alot.
i'm so adorable that i take baguettes and heart shaped cheese to picnics.
these are some of the nyu and tulane kids. they are also just visiting. they're pretty cool, even though i don't really hang out with them a lot anymore...they're all too rich for me, i feel out of place around them.
this is kate and little pete, or dungeon pete cuz he lives in a dungeon.
fountain at versailles, the crazy palace outside of paris that louis xvi used to control the nobles. this place is crazy huge and ornate. it was really awesome to go see it.
it looks a lot cooler turned on, huh?
sacre coeur in montmartre, an amazing church in the only hilly area of paris.
view of paris from the sacre coeur steps.
i met these boys one night at this indie rock club. we talked about the misfits and turbonegro. i told the one on the left that i would marry him so he could live in san francisco and the one on the right looks like mr bean. i actually forgot his real name that night and just kept calling him mr bean and he didn't know what i was talking about. a lot of men here look like mr bean.
this is the eiffel tower from the place de la concorde. i don't actually know what the concorde is but it's an obelisk thingy and it's in line with the arc de triomphe, tuileries gardens, and the louvre. all i know is that intersection is really scary to walk through and it's a good metro stop for changing lines.
speaking of the arc de triomphe, here it is. this is from one of the first days i was here. i had to go exchange money to pay my rent and a girl gave me directions to a place to do so. i come out of the metro and there's the arc. it's like that alot here, you come out of the metro and you're by something historical and important. it's crazy and i love it.
this is pierrot, my host family's dog. he's kind of annoying and likes to bark when i come home late at night. beatrice and pierre lost him last week and they were really sad but then they found him again.
the view out my window, sadly, is not the eiffel tower. this is the view out of my window.
my room
my room again. if you know me, you know that my room is not this clean anymore.
SPARKLES!!!
ok so i hope you liked it. i'm sorry that they aren't really in chronological order but it's too far along now to explain what i do everyday. i have more pictures that i need to upload to my photobucket thingy and pictures from when i went to london this weekend (except i don't have any of my throwing up on the metro. classy huh?). maybe in the next month and a half i'll get around to those.
