Molson-Coors

Well, Molson's is merging with Coors, apparently. The Globe and Mail had this interesting story in reaction to the merger talk. Over the weekend, the guys at Sparrow's wedding bought a 12-pack of Coors to drink. I decided not to spoil the mood by pointing out that the Coors family has been a major financial supporter of conservative groups like The Heritage Founda tion. As if I needed more reasons not to drink Coors. The merger, however, may give me reason not to drink Molson. Coors aparantly distributed Molson in the states already. I guess my attachment to Canadian beers is a tad sentimental, but I did always thi nk they were a step up from the mainline American domestics, flavor-wise. Here in Western Mass., I don't buy a lot of Canadian beer, because it's too expensive -- priced like a micro or an import. But when they price it like a domestic, like in upstate Ne w York where Brother C. used to live, I would jump at the chance. We'll see what happens when I head up to Canada again in a month.
